In our pre-school cooking classes, we teach little cooks about nutrition and food literacy through hands-on, interactive classes. Specifically, we aim to teach important cooking skills such as measuring, mixing, pouring, wrapping, shaking, spreading, peeling, rolling, mashing and cutting as part of our curriculum. We expose pre-schoolers to the joys of eating fruits and vegetables. Pre-schoolers work together with a few basic kitchen tools to prepare a simple snack using the featured fruit or vegetable. They also practice motor skills like pouring and chopping while continuing to practice cognitive and language skills trhough food and color identification.
We might add a story, a food craft or other nutrition-focused activity to teach how good patterns of eating established at early ages are the foundation for a healthy diet throughout a lifetime. Although we consider these classes to be "parent-assisted", we strive for our little cooks to be independent in learning new kitchen skills.
Classes are 45-60 minutes in length (Parent + Child)
$25 per class
We love working with parents and pre-school providers to expose kids as early as possible to the joys of eating healthy fruits and vegetables. Contact us for enrichment program information and discounted group fees.
